Artificial turf in Utah
In Utah, water decides what a yard really costs. We install turf from Ogden down to Provo, built for snow, freeze-thaw and a dry July.
A Utah lawn's real cost is the water.
About 60% of the water Utah homes use goes outside, onto yards. That figure comes from a 2025 Utah State University fact sheet.
A bluegrass lawn here takes 24 to 30 inches of water a season. On 1,000 square feet, that is roughly 15,000 to 18,700 gallons. See the math.
The Great Salt Lake hit its lowest level on record in 2022. Today the state and its water districts pay people to pull out lawn. What that means for your yard.
Turf takes the part of the yard it covers off the water bill for good. It doesn't earn a rebate, and we'd rather you hear that from us first.
Rebates by district
Who pays what, and what they skip.
Utah's lawn rebates pay for living plants on drip. Every program below leaves turf out. Each one needs a yes before the lawn comes out.
Weber Basin
Every city in Davis, Weber, Morgan and Summit counties, so Layton and Ogden.
Pays more in cities that adopted its water rules than in cities that didn't. Ogden homes also have a park strip program.

Jordan Valley
Salt Lake Valley cities on its list, such as Draper, Herriman and Bluffdale.

Central Utah
Much of Utah County, including Lehi, Orem and Provo, plus Salt Lake City and other Salt Lake County cities.
Pays at two rate levels, depending on whether your city adopted the state's landscape rules.
